The singer-songwriter and melodist Ella Rabeson fell into jazz as a child, or rather, from birth. The daughter of a jazz pianist father and a singer mother, who chose her first name in honour of Ella Fitzgerald, it was only natural that her passion for singing was born and grew, notably by participating in several tours organised by the Alliance Française.
In 1996, she created her own musical group (vocals, piano, bass, drums) and recorded her first album, in which her quartet interprets the compositions of the greatest American jazzmen in a pure style and with great respect for tradition.
His repertoire includes compositions by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, as well as Swing, Blues and Bossa Nova.
Ella Rabeson also covers her father's compositions on her new album DADDY'S PROJECT Tribute to Jeanot Rabeson. She sings in her mother tongue in Malagasy as well as in English.
