The Uzège gallery, in Uzès, is pleased to invite you on Friday 4 November from 5 pm onwards at the opening of the exhibition FLOW CUT in the presence of the artist. You can also meet Marco Mencacci on 5 and 6 November at the gallery.
Marco Mencacci has been working with Murano glass since the 1980s. He has worked with the greatest glass masters of Barovier & Toso, the iconic house of the Venetian island and holder of the ancestral tradition of making this famous transparent crystal.
Inspired by the founding elements and feelings of nature, the languages of colours and materials that have just been blown out are captured in the crystal. Like the beginning of life, the shapes move in their glass embryo. The magic happens and the glass reveals all its richness.
"As on the surface of a cubist painting, such angularity, such a salient profile, such a diamond or icicle cut, accelerate the point of view, which on the contrary becomes languid on a curvature, or precipitates into the rapid staccato of a form almost buttoned on itself."
